Swimming and sunbathing

Your days here can start and end in the sea. Just below the house, the rocky beach invites you to sunbathe and swim in crystal clear water, and with the snorkelling gear and two SUP boards from the house there is always something new to discover. Don't forget a high factor sun cream: the Dalmatian sun is stronger than it looks.

And when you feel like a change from the sea, the pool is just a few steps away.

Mountain biking

The hills above the villa are crossed by marked biking trails, with views over the sea and the islands that make every climb worth it. Take a map and explore them at your own pace. And if you are looking for something different, just ask us: we will gladly tell you about our favourite routes in the area.

Windsurfing

If you have your own equipment: usually in the afternoon the mistral wind blows from the northwest, and it can be nice to surf. The channel is 0.8 nautical miles wide and ideal for enjoying it. On the rocky beach there is enough space to put the surfing equipment together, and in the sea there is a buoy where you can tie it, so you do not always need to take it out.

The windsurfing paradise of Viganj on the Pelješac Peninsula, which hosts European and world championships, is an hour and a half drive northwest of Villa Planika.

Sightseeing in Dubrovnik

In Dubrovnik there are lots of things to see and visit. We recommend seeing the Old Town on weekdays, because on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) there are big crowds with plenty of visitors from cruise ships. We would recommend a walking tour with Dubrovnik Walking Tours.

Catch and cook

We have a cage to catch fish. This is a great experience: putting bread in it, taking the cage to a promising spot in the sea, bringing it back out onto the rocky beach and taking the fish out (sometimes the cage is empty!). Then you clean the fish, and in a few minutes it is grilled and served on your table.

Take a trip

During your stay we recommend a day trip to other interesting places such as the island of Korčula, the island of Mljet, the Pelješac Peninsula, the town of Ston with its great oyster restaurants, the town of Mostar, Međugorje, Cavtat, Montenegro and more.
